Rascal
Rascal completed his AKC Master Hunter title in 2005. In
the spring of 2004 we began our quest for his Master title.
He can certainly make work look so simple. I found my
allocation of training time left me short for Rascal. I
had several outside dogs that needed more attention than I
planned. So Rascal would get a couple birds on Thursday
night and off to the Hunt Tests on Friday night. This is
the bad side of being a professional trainer. My dogs come last.
We did pass twice allowing us to prep for fall. However,
fall hunt tests weren’t to be for us. Our focus now is to
finish this spring.
Rascal had a good fall hunting season. He went to Iowa with my
sons opening weekend and again at Christmas with my youngest
son, Warren, and me. Rascal is a wonderful wild pheasant
hunter. He ranges close when I want him to and reaches out in
open country and hunts objectives. Birds were really wild and
skittish at Christmas. Our dogs did not push the birds giving
us the opportunity to get close enough for a shot.
Rascal is available at stud. His sire Maxx was a
Mosegaard-Serakraut cross with Master Hunters and Field
Champions in his pedigree. His mother is a 3X NFC Rawhide’s
Clown daughter. Rascal’s stud fee is $500. Call for breeding
details.
Look for Rascal puppies running Junior tests this spring. We
have several that look really promising. They are loaded with
style. Additionally, two are white with liver heads and
patched. Look for their pictures on this website in the next
couple of weeks.
